The words of our Hymn of Response are given below, and the music is from hymn number 114. It is a composite of words by William Faber (from There's A Wideness In God's Mercy) and Erik Routley (from All Who Love and Serve Your City, #356).

There's a wideness, in God's mercy,
like the wideness of the sea;
There is mercy, with the Savior,
Which is more than liberty.
For all days are days of judgment,
and the Lord is waiting still;
Loves His children, though they spurn Him,
Off'ring peace from Calv'ry's hill.
In your day of loss and sorrow,
in your day of helpless strife,
Honor, peace, and love retreating,
Seek the Lord, Who is your life!
There is welcome, for the sinner,
and more graces for the good;
There is mercy, with the Savior,
There is healing in His blood.
For the love of God is broader
Than the measure of man's mind.
And the heart of the Eternal,
is most wonderfully kind.
If our love were but more simple,
We should take Him at His word;
And our lives would be all sunshine,
In the sweetness of our Lord.
