79 O Love of God, How Strong and True! The Hymn of Response is O Love of God, How Strong and True, Eternal, and yet ever new! by Horatius Bonar, the author of about 600 hymns! His works are subjective and appealing; his purpose was to fill them with the love and light of Christ. He wrote a number of hymns for the revivals of Moody and Sankey. Three other hymns by Bonar are in our hymnal. The tune is OMBERSLEY, composed in 1872 by William Gladstone, the eldest son of the famous British Prime Minister. The younger Gladstone followed his father into politics, where his record was indifferent; his hymn-writing on the other hand, will endure.

Grace Notes was a joint production of the late Minister of Music, Steve Gungl, and former Pastor John Duge. It relies heavily on The Companion to the Seventh-day Adventist Hymnal and The SDA Digital Hymnal.
