75 The Wonder of It AllThis hymn is summarized by the verse, "The Son of God, who loved me" (Gal. 2:20). Both words and music were written by George Beverly Shea, who was born February 1, 1909, the fourth of eight children, to a Wesleyan Methodist minister and his wife in Winchester, Ontario, Canada. At the time of this writing (10/24/04), he is 95 years old. George Beverly Shea has been called "America’s most beloved gospel singer." He was a partner in the Billy Graham ministry for more than 50 years and is known throughout the world for his rich baritone voice.
